It's Been a While...

We have been home a little over a month. If there is anyone out there
who still checks our blog I thought you would like an update:) So,
how is she? SHE IS PERFECT! I am amazed by her every day! Everyone
is! I wanted to keep Cassie home from school until at least mid
February or early March. As I have read, though, she wanted to go to
school just like her brother and sisters. I got two full weeks of
home time with her. She was ready after a week but I held her off as
long as possible. Cassie is loving school and her wonderful teacher
(C's teacher too as they are in the same class) is so impressed with
her. She called me last week and talked for 25 minutes about her!!!!

G and M both played basketball for their school. We have spent most
of our nights at the gym. Basketball was Cassie's first new word
home!!! With the season now over I don't know what she is going to
think. She always asks, "basketball?".

Communication is no problem. She understands a whole lot more than
she can say. Her English is not coming along as fast as I thought but
I think it may be I don't realize her progress. This morning the kids
were looking for their school snacks. Cassie had already put one in
her backpack. When G was looking for his she said, "Mommy I", then
she pointed to her backpack and then upstairs. She ran upstairs and
got the extra snack!

We have had no issues at all. I keep wondering if this is still the
honeymoon stage but I really don't think so. The love we have for
that kid was instant and strong. We don't see a Chinese little girl
whom we've adopted. We just see our daughter Cassie:)

Cassie is feeling very secure also. Watching a basketball game the
other day she had her head in my lap, spread out flat on her back on
the bleachers, eating popcorn upside down! I got teary (of course I
did I cry over everything). It was such an unforced, close, trusting
position. I knew at that moment it was settled in her mind!

We had a fun night playing dress up at a friend's house Saturday. Met
some new friends there too:)
